  • Marseille in 3 words

    Solar, contradictory, bubbling.

  • My favourite neighbourhood

The Castellane district. Always lively even on Sundays. You can have a drink with friends, have a coffee before going to work or stroll around the market on Saturday morning.

1. A bubble among the pines

How about sleeping under the stars just outside Marseille? In the heart of a pine forest in Allauch, several bubbles welcome you in a green setting. You’ll enjoy all the comfort and luxury you’d expect in a cocoon with transparent walls, for a serene night’s sleep as close to nature as possible. You can also take advantage of the on-site swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Meal trays can be delivered for you to enjoy on the terrace of your bubble or in a chalet by the fire: a timeless interlude and a moment of serenity just a stone’s throw from Marseille!

2. A tree house

When you were a child, you might have dreamt of having your own tree house and living out adventures worthy of Robinson Crusoe.

This dream can come true in Allauch, where a number of treehouses are available for couples and families. Our favourite is the Squirrel hut, which can accommodate a family of two adults and two children, with its mezzanine and watchtower.

The Tahitian hut, with its traditional Faré look, takes you to the other side of the world. The private jacuzzi is a reminder that unusual accommodation can also offer a luxurious setting.

3. A hotel room at the Cité radieuse

Nicknamed the ‘house of the madman’ by some Marseillais, the Cité radieuse is one of architect Le Corbusier’s masterpieces. Conceived as a veritable vertical village, this housing unit includes two internal shopping streets and a roof terrace housing a nursery school and the MaMo (Centre d’Art Contemporain).

Located in this UNESCO World Heritage building, the Hôtel le Corbusier*** offers rooms with a vintage feel that respect the spirit of the architect. An essential experience for fans of design and contemporary art!

4. A stay in an ecolodge at the foot of Garlaban

At the foot of Marcel Pagnol’s beloved hills, the Garlaban*** campsite invites you to stay in the shade of the pines in a canvas and wood ecolodge for a night close to nature. The different ecolodges offer a variety of experiences and levels of comfort, but what they have in common is that they invite you to travel: you’ll feel like you’re in the wilds of Africa!

The campsite has a swimming pool, table tennis tables, a football pitch and a play area with wooden games for children.

5. A holiday in a horse-drawn wagon in the Camargue

At the gateway to the wilds of the Camargue, Mas Thibert invites you to experience a timeless interlude with unusual accommodation in a horse-drawn wagon. This cosy Provencal nest nestles in a green setting, close to sumptuous natural sites.

And if adventure beckons, you can explore the estate on horseback for an absolutely unforgettable experience, following in the footsteps of the herdsmen of the Camargue.

6. Castle life at Lançon-Provence

Château de la Beaumetane is set in wooded grounds in the heart of the vineyards. This exceptional venue regularly hosts weddings and private events.

The former stables have been transformed into elegant, tastefully decorated bedrooms. Twenty luxury 4-star rooms offer the promise of château life in an enchanting setting half an hour from the centre of Marseille.
