Christmas activities of the Tourist Office

To celebrate the festive season, the Tourist Office, Leisure and Convention Bureauof Marseille  is offering a program of events for all, locals and visitors alike. Every weekend in December will be rich in highlights, with conviviality and sharing as the watchwords. Rich in symbolism, emotions and sensations, the traditions of Christmas in Provence and Marseille give color and meaning to the festivities.

Saturday, December 7th

Follow the guide and immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas!

10:30 am: Discover Rue Sainte, its history and its shops. Let your guide lead you on a kilometer-long tour, with a few delicious gourmet breaks in between.

3pm: Take a guided tour of Christmas traditions in the streets of the town center, and (re)discover the beautiful festive traditions of Christmas. Learn more about the 13 desserts and Provence.

These tours are free of charge and must be booked in advance. (Please note! Places are limited and visits fill up very quickly. )

Saturday, December 14th

Solidarity oil pump sale

Tick tock, tick tock… Christmas is coming, and so are the presents! How about taking advantage of your shopping day and the pedestrian center to enjoy a delicious slice of pompe à l’huile while doing a good deed? That’s the program for December 14, from 2.00pm in the Tourist Office chalet (Christmas market on the Canebière). In partnership with the Chambre de Métiers et de l’Artisanat and the Fédération des artisans boulangers, the Tourist Office will be selling shares at €2 each.
All proceeds will go to the Soliane association, which supports “extra-ordinary” children and young adults with visible or invisible disabilities.
5 bakeries got involved. A great opportunity to discover the delicious pumps of Les Massilious, Boulangerie Aixoise, Boulangerie Montaigne, Pain et Cantine and Pain et Partage.

And don’t forget the free guided tour “Un Noël à Marseille” and discover Christmas traditions in the streets of the city center at 3pm.

Hôtel de Ville (interruption on the 21st between 8pm and 8:15pm)
Palais du Pharo (interruption on the 21st between 7.40pm and 8.15pm)

Saturday, December 21 at 3pm, take part in the free guided tour “Un Noël à Marseille and discover Christmas traditions in the streets of the city center.

Enchanting show

Saturday, December 21 from 8pm.
Feast your eyes on a magical fireworks show featuring drones, lasers and pyrotechnics on the Old Port.

Every Saturday between 2 and 6 pm, don’t miss the Pena del Fuego Christmas brass band in front of the Tourist Office.
