A floral exhibition
“There are flowers everywhere for those who want to see them” said Henri Matisse. And indeed, flora surrounds us and is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for popular and decorative art. Wild and cultivated flowers are also used for other purposes, such as pharmacopoeia, perfumery, food and handicrafts. Man has sometimes forged special cultural relationships with certain flowers, attributing symbolic, magical or religious dimensions to them. But the disappearance of certain field flowers, such as the emblematic poppy, has also made us aware of the fragility of nature. So say it with flowers!
This alphabet book, which focuses on Mediterranean plants, will resonate with the nearby Migration Garden.
