What a circus! BIAC opening weekend

La Friche la Belle de Mai hosts the opening of the 6th edition of the Biennale Internationale des Arts de Cirque with a festive weekend on January 11 and 12, 2025. The shows, free and open to all, offer a variety of circus performances featuring suspension, contortion, balance and tightrope walking. Here’s the program for these two festive days:

Rouge Merveille (Compagnie Rhizome – Chloé Moglia)
January 11 and 12 at 2pm – Friche la Belle de Mai – Place des Quais
A visual and sound poem, combining aerobatics and electro-meditative music. Mélusine Lavinet-Drouet, on a high structure, invites us to a suspended, dreamlike moment.

LOOking fOr (Compagnie Allégorie)
January 11 and 12, 2:45pm – Friche la Belle de Mai – Placette
An exploration of the quest for identity through balancing, contortion, singing and object manipulation. Three artists evolve in a playful, jazzy universe.

Passages (Compagnie AR)
January 11 and 12, 2:45pm – Friche la Belle de Mai – Place Seita
Description: An introspective performance in a plexiglass box, in which Alice Rende challenges physical and emotional limits through contortion.

Fire (Fanny Alvarez)
January 11 and 12 at 3:30pm – Friche la Belle de Mai – Cour Jobin
A piece combining acrobatics, music and sporting energy, performed by an acrobat and two musicians.

Soka Tira Osoa (Compagnie Basinga)
January 11 and 12 at 3:30pm – Friche la Belle de Mai – Champ de Mai
A participatory tightrope-walking performance in which artists, technicians and spectators play an active role. The wire, stretched to 4.5 meters, becomes the stage for a collective ballet.

A spectacular weekend of circus in all its forms in the emblematic spaces of Friche la Belle de Mai.
