What is the Low emission zone?

The Marseille Low Emission Zone establishes a perimeter within which the traffic of the most polluting vehicles is gradually limited in order to reduce road traffic emissions by the renewal of  the most polluting vehicles.

Which vehicles are affected?

All motorised vehicles (cars, two-wheelers, motor tricycles and quadricycles, commercial vehicles and heavy goods vehicles), whether personal or professional.

The LEZs system is based on the national CRIT’AIR sticker system, which distinguishes vehicles according to their level of pollutant emissions. Each vehicle is classifiedfrom 0 to 5 (or not). The sticker is MANDATORY for each vehicle.

Know your vehicle's classification

To find out the classification of your vehicle and order a Crit’Air sticker: go to the website  https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/ with the vehicle registration document.

One sticker per vehicle – average cost of  €3.11 (excluding shipping costs)

Vehicles registered abroad are also affected by this measure.

Failure to comply with the EPZ could result in a fine of €68 (light vehicles, light commercial vehicles and motorised two-wheelers) or €135 (heavy goods vehicles).
