Made in MarseilleA label to promote Marseille's products and expertise

Made in Marseille

The City of Marseille, in partnership with the Tourist Office, is launching the Fabriqué à Marseille label, to support and promote the products and expertise of its artisans and manufacturers.
In 2025, the first edition of the label campaign was a resounding success: 107 labels were awarded, including 99 to products and 8 to shared manufacturing sites.

What is the “Made in Marseille” label?

Products are divided into 4 main categories:

  • Food (excluding catering)
  • Fashion and accessories
  • Home furnishings
  • Other manufactured products

To qualify for the label, products must meet 3 criteria:

  • The local nature of the product’s manufacture or processing
  • The existence of proven, high-quality know-how
  • Integration of social and environmental issues

The label is awarded for 3 years.

Discover the artisans and products of Fabriqué à Marseille

Marseille is bursting with talent, with artisans and manufacturers who make their products in Marseille. Among the first to receive the label are, of course, the historic soap makers and santon makers, pastis and navettes, but also espadrilles from Marseille, artisanal energy bars, upcycled clothing and vases made from lifebuoys.

Buying local is the best way to discover Marseille, and to bring back gifts for your friends and family!

The 8 winners in 2025

The jury, made up of elected officials and representatives of the local economic fabric, singled out 8 of the 107 companies that received the label, awarding them a prize.

Food Category Award: Cristal Limiñana

Founded in Algeria in 1880, the pastis and anisette factory moved to Marseille’s 5th arrondissement in 1962. Maristella Vasserot, head of the family business, took over from her great-grandfather in 2013.

Cristal Limiñana continues to produce its flagship products, Pastis Cristal and Anisette Cristal, while diversifying its range of spirits (rum, gin, vodka…) and soft drinks. The company is very active in developing know-how tourism, and regularly offers tours of its factory, located at 99 boulevard Jeanne d’Arc.

Fashion and Accessories Award: Fil Rouge

Founded in 2014, Fil Rouge is, with its 80 employees, one of the leading players in the region’s textile industrial sector. From its premises in Marseille’s 10th arrondissement, it makes garments for a wide range of customers: These include Décathlon, Puma, Coca-Cola and Pernord-Ricard. Fil Rouge has also developed its own brand of streetwear, which you can find in its Terrasses du Port boutique.

As a committed company, Fil Rouge works with people on social integration schemes, helping them to develop their skills through a training program and socio-professional support. On the environmental front, its garments are certified Origine France Garantie and the cotton used is 100% organic.

Home Universe Category Award: Atelier Léa Caïe

Ceramist Léa Caïe is based in the Petit Chantier workshop (13007), which she shares with other artisans. Here, she creates functional sculptures that highlight plants and question our relationship with nature. These organic sculptures are designed to allow plants to grow, by creating an autonomous irrigation system.

Trained by sculptor and ceramist Grégoire Scalabre, Léa Caïe worked for several years at the Pôle des métiers d’art d’Est Ensemble in Pantin, before moving to Marseille.
Committed to her craft, Léa Caïe minimizes the use of enamels and favors single-firing.

Prize in the Other Manufactured Products category : La Savonnerie du Midi

Founded in 1894 and located in the Aygalades district (13015), the Savonnerie du Midi is one of Marseille’s last remaining historic soap factories. It was bought by the PRODEF group in 2013, which invested heavily between 2018 and 2020 to renovate the cauldrons where the soaps are made. Since then, the company has experienced strong growth and its workforce has doubled.

At the end of 2018, the Savonnerie inaugurated its Museum on its premises, open every day of the week. Here, individual or group visitors can discover the various stages of the ancestral Marseille soap-making process.

A committed company with a long heritage, it has held the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label since 2020, as well as PME+, a label designed to recognize the CSR initiatives of SMEs.

Circular Economy Award: Canal 16 Lab

After launching and developing the Espigas brand, Marseille’s espadrille, Bérangère and Olivier Perret set themselves a new challenge in 2024: to manufacture upcycled luggage from waste associated with nautical activities: life rafts, buoys, buoyancy suits and so on. This waste is collected within a 10km radius of their workshop.

They point out that around 20 tons of sea-related waste could be recovered in Marseille every year, a reality echoed by the brand’s name. Canal 16 is a reference to the distress frequency used by sailors on the high seas. Eventually, they hope to set up a full-fledged industrial sewing production workshop in Marseille, creating outlets for locally-trained seamstresses.

Their products are on sale in their Espigas boutique, 3 cours Jean Ballard.

Innovation Awards

bAAM

The bAAM adventure began in 2019 when Tristan Nicolas, baker and skateboarder, fell in love with the energy bars made by one of his friends in Reunion Island. Later joined by Florent, an ultra-trailer, they have been developing their own brand in Marseille since 2022, and today offer 4 different recipes of artisanal energy bars.

A committed company, bAAM makes 100% natural bars with ingredients sourced as locally as possible, such as honey from the Estaque bee. It’s also the first Marseille-based brand to offer compostable plant-based packaging, made from cellulose.

You’ll find them in over 130 sales outlets throughout France: gyms, climbing gyms, delicatessens, etc.

Les Minettes en Goguette

With her brand, Les Minettes en Goguette, Véronique Gonzalez has been offering clothing adapted to women who have had breast cancer since 2020. To achieve this, she chooses materials suitable for sensitive or scarred skin. Over the years, she has come to realize that these fabrics can be adapted to the problems encountered by people affected by different pathologies, and is now targeting a wider public. Her aim is to combine comfort and accessibility with large sizes, offering garments from size 38 to 48.

She set up her workshop-boutique in the Passage des Folies Bergères (13002) in January 2024. Customers and interested parties are welcome to touch fabrics and test prototypes.

Pikip Solar Speakers

Pikip Solar Speakers, founded in 2017 by Julien Feuillet, aims to contribute to the ecological transition of the cultural and events sector, with its sustainable sound systems. The four sound systems run on renewable energy and are optimized to generate low power consumption, thanks to a patented dual-architecture power supply technology.

Much of the manufacturing is carried out in-house by a team of 5 employees. The company also collaborates with a number of local craftsmen and craftswomen, giving preference to local raw materials.

Its most powerful system can equip a stage for up to 2000 people. Keen to work with the local events and festivities sector, Pikip has already equipped the conference area at the Delta festival, as well as the musical stages at the Braderie in the city center.

In a second phase, the Tourist Office will focus on promoting this label in tourism, by offering visits to label-approved companies, tours and introductory workshops for children…
