4. 26th Centenary Park

Inaugurated to mark the 2,600th anniversary of the legendary founding of the city of Marseille by Gyptis and Protis, the Parc du 26e Centenaire is a well-known landmark for the people of Marseille. Located in the heart of Marseilles, this kilometre-long green space is home to a playground where children can enjoy the great outdoors.

After a play session, the whole family can stroll along the park’s paths, reach the observatory, walk around the lake, walk along the central paved mall lined with a canal, or stroll through the themed gardens inspired by Provence, Asia, Africa and the Orient.

The Parc du 26e Centenaire was built on the site of a former railway station: discover the vestiges of this past, scattered here and there!

Optical illusions, mirror games and sensory challenges deceive visitors through visual illusions and surprising activities that challenge their perception of reality. Children are fascinated to discover that they can defy the laws of gravity and walk on the ceiling, venture into an infinite room, rub shoulders with holograms, change size and become tiny or, on the contrary, look like giants next to their parents.

The Musée de l’Illusion is a fun and educational experience, reminding us that our senses are imperfect, and can easily be fooled with a little cunning.
