Do you know what a chicoulon is? In Provençal, it’s a small, carefully measured glass of wine, taken for the pleasure of refilling it. Edouard Mireur, the owner, wanted to pay tribute to his grandmother with the name of his wine bar-restaurant, and the least we can say is that it’s been a great success since 2017! A multi-purpose venue that doubles as a wine cellar, restaurant and even privatization on request, Chicoulon offers a highly specialized selection of French wines, from affordable bottles to share with friends for an aperitif, to exceptional bottles for a special occasion. The restaurant’s menu changes daily, with a limited selection of local and seasonal wines. Come and enjoy it at 59 rue Grignan!

A little trip to Chicoulon
Tous à l'Abri in Saint-Victor
Saint-Victor is full of places to have a drink, but for lovers of natural wines and good food, l’Abri is the place to go! Nestled on boulevard de la Corderie, the bar offers a lovely space to enjoy a drink, share a few plates, all in a super-friendly atmosphere. Their wine is vinified on site in vats you can see at the far end of the restaurant. The grapes are organic, grown in the Alpilles and hand-picked before being brought back to their winery on Boulevard de la Corderie to be offered to connoisseurs and beginners alike.
A la bonne franquette at Les Trois Coups
Les Trois Coups is a wine cellar on Boulevard de la Libération, and a restaurant a stone’s throw from Place Castellane on Rue Saint-Suffren. The ambiance at Les Trois Coups is “à la bonne franquette”, where you can have a drink with friends at the bar, or sit down at a table to share a few original and tasty dishes, with chefs in residence who change several times a year. No time to get bored! What we love about Les Trois Coups is the feeling of being at home, with the best wine and no obligation to cook.
A cosy moment at Voila Vé
Head to Boulevard Chave to enjoy natural, organic or biodynamic wines at Voila Vé! Opened in 2019, this wine bar has made a name for itself with local customers thanks to its cutting-edge wine selection and quality tapas. With Alix in the dining room and Victor in the kitchen, what we love about Voila Vé is the cosy atmosphere, the patio ideal for Mistral evenings, and their generous panisses and charcuterie boards. As a bonus, they organize events all year round: oursinades, Savoyard fondues, fête de la musique etc…
The Italian Unforeseen
Near Castellane, the Italian/Corsican bar l’Imprévu welcomes you in an atmosphere “just like home”, with authentic products bought directly from producers, and a fine selection of Italian and French wines. Enjoy antipasti on the terrace from Tuesday to Saturday evenings!
A little Prov'Oc at the Cours Julien
Just a stone’s throw from La Plaine, discover the Prov’Oc concept! An organic, biodynamic and natural wine bar, selected directly from independent winemakers. The Prov’oc principle is simple: they take care of the drinks, and you bring what you want to eat! The result is a convivial atmosphere, shared either on a sheltered terrace, handy in winter, or indoors on a cosy table surrounded by bottles. The place even offers bubbles, spirits and local beers.
Sharing good cheer at the Cave des 20
20 associates – that explains the name Cave des 20! This friendly, gourmet spot offers 700 different wines from all over France. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, with lunch available and tapas aperitifs on Thursday and Friday, what more could you want for a good time? With friends, as a couple or just for lovers of fine wines and spirits, La Cave des 20 is the place to be!
Let's get drunk!
Ivresse is a wine and food cellar specializing in foreign wines, located on rue Leon Bourgeois. You’ll find a wide selection of German, Austrian and Catalan wines! They are all bottled without the use of inputs or sulfur. La Cave also offers plates made from well-sourced organic produce, mainly from Italy if you’re feeling peckish. The Ivresse team also plans to welcome young chefs in residence to delight you all year round.
Enjoying at Quilles et Papilles
Let’s step away from the city center to discover Quilles et Papilles, a wine cellar and restaurant in the Saint-Barnabé district.
