The Mucem exhibition
It all started with an invitation made by the president of the Mucem to the artist during a meeting. The artist accepted the invitation and went to Marseille to visit the museum and its collections of popular art, which he particularly liked. He then imagined an exhibition that would be like a dialogue between the pieces of the Mucem collection (photography, daily life objects, documents…) and his own works. For this new scenography, he chose nearly 200 objects and 20 pieces of his works, 19 of which are lent for the occasion by the ‘Pinault Collection’. The exhibition retraces 40 years of his career.
It is in front of the sea in this exceptional place and on 1200sqm that will take place this, we will find his iconic works, such as ‘Baloon dog’ or ‘Lobster’ or ‘Bluebird Planter’.
