The rolling stones and Marseille, a great story!

The rolling stones and Marseille is a long story that began in 1966 at the ‘Salle Vallier” (small gymnasium hall where are held some events) (yes you read that correctly… the ‘Salle Vallier!) with a  eventful concert and a hysterical crowd! During their last song “satisfaction”, the craziness takes hold of the room and Mick Jagger receives a chair  in his face, the concert ends and Jagger finishes his evening in the hospital! A legendary concert! The rolling stones  came back several times in the seaside city in 1990, 2003, and 2018. During his last stay in Marseille, Mick Jagger even strolled in the ‘Panier’ suburb under the astonished eyes of passers-by ! He even  tasted the famous ‘Bouillabaisse’ (a typical dish from Marseille)!
So it is in Marseille, unique city in France, that the exhibition will open its doors on the 10th of June. An unsubmissive and rebellious group in an unsubmissive and rebellious city!

The exhibition at the Velodrome

The exhibition entitled « Unzipped » is a reference to the cover of their album “Sticky Fingers” released in 1971, whose visual signed by Andy Warhol, made a scandal at the time because it showed  a close-up of a trouser fly !
This travelling exhibition started in 2016 in London.  This unique and immersive experience will take place in the lounges of the “Orange Vélodrome” and will cover almost over 2000 sqm, divided into several zones (a dozen) that this unique and immersive experience will make you discover the world of the Stones. During this 1h30 tour,  you will discover one by one,  the first apartment of the band reconstitued for the occasion in the smallest details  (even the smells !), their recording studio, the story of the famous logo “Tong and lips” the emblem of the band since 1970, more than 400 unpublished art pieces from the personal collection of the group, recordings, videos, and many more surprises. The exhibition will end in apotheosis on stage with the group at the time of their mythical concert in Havana!
