What is the World Nature Congress?

This congress is one of the most important environmental events in the world, where many issues are raised and major decisions-making takes place. This congress is also open to the general public. Nearly 160 countries will be represented, including companies, NGOs, state representatives, decision-makers, indigenous peoples  and other environmental organisations. The congress aims to find concrete solutions on environmental issues and to implement them in the coming years.

Major themes are at the center of debates and discussions.  Landscape, freshwater, oceans, climate change, rights and governance, economic and financial systems and knowledge, innovation and technology.

In the face of the current situation, with  the number of natural disasters increasing in number and severity, the alarm call from  scientists, these decisions will be more important than ever, it is urgent to act now.

The program

This year, in view of the current health situation, the format of the congress has been adapted and a “hybrid format” will be proposed. Those who cannot travel will be able to attend some sessions remotely. The congress is composed of 3 major events. The “Espace Génération” is the only space open to the general public, a real biodiversity village. It is free of charge and without registration. This space offers an immersive, creative and fun experience. Exhibitions, escape games, round tables, workshops etc… more than 375 events and activities will be offered. The goal is for everyone, young and old alike, to become aware of the issues  at stake today.
