A photo project to reveal the French identity
For more than 30 years, Yann Arthus-Bertrand has been travelling around France with his itinerant studio, immortalising anonymous people and celebrities alike. This photographic work brings together unique portraits that draw a true panorama ofFrench society. The project has a demographic and educational dimension, carried out in collaboration with demographer Hervé Le Bras.
The photographs collected will be presented in books published by Actes Sud and a travelling exhibition throughout France. For Yann Arthus-Bertrand, this is an essential question: what does it mean tobe French today?
