A culinary Odyssey on Degaby Island

A Marseille first

From early April to mid-October, Île Degaby, a little-known jewel in Marseille’s harbor, reveals its charms to locals and visitors alike. For the second year running, this exceptional site is hosting a temporary restaurant and bar, designed as a place to live, eat and share that’s unique in the Mediterranean.

A dive into the Grande Bleue

Accessible only after a 15-minute boat ride, the island offers an escape where time seems suspended. Guests can choose between the tranquility of a dinner in the restaurant, facing the setting sun, or the pleasure of a meal on the beach.

A culinary offering as close to the land as possible

In the kitchen, chef Sébastien Dugast , a former member of the Passedat brigade and a three-starred chef from Marseille, offers local cuisine with a Mediterranean twist, giving pride of place to seasonal produce and to the region’s producers and craftsmen, with whom he has built lasting relationships. Menus evolve with the seasons and are regularly updated. Signature dishes are meant to be shared and enjoyed alongside a carefully curated wine selection from Provence.

Your event

Perfect for hosting events, the island accommodates group bookings and private hire for professionals or individuals—from 10 to 350 people.
Departure by boat from the Mucem.

Niki de Saint Phalle at the Hôtel de Caumont

Classified as a historical monument, theHôtel de Caumont is one of Aix-en-Provence’s finest 18th-century private mansions. Situated a stone’s throw from the Cours Mirabeau, in the Mazarin district, it has undergone complete restoration and has been home to a new Art Center for the past 10 years.

Open to all forms of art, its vocation is to present two temporary exhibitions a year, dedicated to the great names in the history of art, from ancient times to the present day. Restoring the atmosphere and aesthetics characteristic of the 18th century, Caumont – Centre d’Art is a major venue in the cultural life of Aix, where art is discovered and shared with passion.

For its 2025 summer exhibition, Caumont-Centre d’Art is honoring Niki de Saint Phalle (1930-2002). Popularized by her incredible Nanas, the Franco-American artist developed a powerful, committed universe, vibrant with energy and poetry. This exhibition highlights the influence of animals and imaginary creatures on the artist throughout her life. Through this never-before-explored theme, the exhibition shows how his work, throughout his career, is peopled by a fascinating magical bestiary in which symbols, myths, autobiographical narrative and the legacy of surrealism mingle.

For your corporate events, the Café Caumont on the ground floor of the mansion, with its terrace overlooking the gardens, is the ideal setting for entertaining your guests. A balmy evening, a tour of the exhibition and a cocktail accompanied by a few jazz or classical tunes will make your event a success.
