Dedicated to the British soldiers who died in the 2 world wars, this garden of remembrance stretches peacefully over 9,000 m² to the south of Marseille. In a harmonious play of symmetries, mineral perspectives alternate with plant species and verdant lawns.
Administered by the Commonwealth War Grave Commission, Mazargues Cemetery is perfectly maintained by a passionate gardener. This astonishing site is home to the graves of 1,742 soldiers of the British Empire.
The 267 victims of the Second World War are grouped together in the extension added after the Great War.
On site, an information slab sheds light on the role of British forces in the 2 World Wars.
A landscaped area and a place of meditation, this garden offers a peaceful detour...
