This monument was erected by the architect Castel and the sculptor Antoine Sartorio in 1927 in memory of the soldiers of all confessions, "who died for France" in North Africa.
This "portico in the sky" represents in its center a bronze Victory, arms stretched towards the sky. On either side, two allegorical figures. One represents the goddess of war and the other the goddess of the sea, surrounded by colonial soldiers.
