Palais Longchamp aile droite, Boulevard Philippon, 13004 Marseille 4ème
Created in 1819 driven by the Marquis of Montgrand, mayor of Marseille and Comte "Earl" de Villeneuve, Bouches du Rhône préfet.
The muséum gathers XVIII th century cabinet of curiosity of the city and state donations.
One of Europe's finest water towers, built in 1869 by architect Henry Espérandieu, it houses Marseille's two oldest museums: Beaux-Arts and Histoire naturelle.

Awarded the "Musée de France" label in 2002, the Museum stands out for the scientific quality and heritage of its collections. A meeting place for the cultures and natural spaces of Europe and the Mediterranean, it offers a wide variety of naturalist curiosities.

The "Land of Evolution" permanent exhibition, inaugurated in 2020, invites visitors to discover the Living World and the Earth that surrounds us.
It combines past and present biodiversity, questioning the influence of our species on the recent evolution of living things. The exhibition offers poetic and contemplative pauses in a scenography that blends with the historic setting of the Palais. The history of life on Earth is explained in an original way, around 7 major sequences. Each one deals with a different function of life, illustrating a range of adaptations, in as many different forms, colors and organs, reflecting biodiversity.
