Founded by the Archbishop of Myre, Mgr Maximos Mazloum and inaugurated by the Archbishop of Aix en Provence, Mgr Fd de Beausset, this building is original by its typically oriental architecture, by its decoration and especially by its bi-ritualism: since its creation, services of the Roman and Byzantine rites are celebrated in alternation. Created to welcome French and Oriental Catholics, it appears as the best illustration of the spirit of tolerance and openness of the Melkites but also of their will to be a bridge between the East and the West. As a testimony to the history of Eastern Christians, this church remains one of the most fabulous vestiges of Marseille's Levantine past. The Fondation du Patrimoine is associated with the restoration of the church by mobilizing the patronage of individuals and companies through the present subscription.
Curé Antoine Forget. The church is open from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm from Tuesday to Saturday, mass on Sunday at 10:30 am.
