The other boats, for individuals or groups

From the Old Port, the Roucas Nautical Base or the Pointe Rouge Port, many companies go to the heart of the calanques and offer boat rentals. With family or friends, as individuals or groups, you can discover them by traditional sailboat, old rigging, monohull sailing boat, catamaran, thermal, hybrid or electric motor boats, semi-rigid boats…

Their professional skippers, who are above all passionate sailors, will tell you the history of Marseille, and  make you discover the marine environment in a friendly and safe manner. In summer, depending on the package chosen, these excursions include a relaxing break, a swim or a snack on board. These mini-cruises are also suitable for professionals  on demand services for seminars, teambuilding, etc.

/!\Since 2019, sea excursion  providers who wish to visit the Calanques National Park must have an authorisation and therefore a logo which gives them the right to do so, in order to protect the site and respect the regulations in force. (orange stcker for cruise ships, green sticker for boat rental).

The calanques from Cassis and La Ciotat

On the other side of the massif, we find Cassis. A beautiful fishing port nestled at the foot of the imposing Cap Canaille with its red cliffs, which has become a popular tourist resort. After Cap Canaille, the Soubeyranes cliffs extend the coast to La Ciotat and its Bec de L’Aigle, again offering superb views.
Although the Cassis area  has only one calanque, Port Miou, the GIE des Bateliers Cassidiens and its fleet of 15 boats offer trips throughout the year, with several circuits including 3, 5, 8 or 9 calanques. For example, the excursion to the first three creeks includes the Cassis peninsula, Port-Miou, Port-Pin and En-Vau, and takes 45 minutes.

A little further away,  in the charming port of La Ciotat, Les Amis des Calanques also offer departures for the calanques from Figuerolles to Sormiou. ( 2h30 for the longest loop).

Good to know

The weather

Whatever option you choose, departures are only guaranteed if the sea allows it: the organisers reserve the right to postpone or cancel the excursion in the event of bad weather. Please enquire beforehand.

Drop off in the creeks

Whether you leave from Marseille or Cassis, there is no drop-off point for passengers in the Calanques: you stay on board the boat, or depending on the option chosen, you can swim, but you  cannot walk on the banks, or even walk back.

Precautions

Even on board a boat, it is important to protect yourself from the sun, heat, thirst or cold: don’t forget your windbreaker, hat, sunglasses, sun cream and water!
