Ready to go!

We met Nicolas, our guide for the day, at the entrance to the Canebière. We couldn’t miss him, we noticed his fuchsia pink Tuk Tuk (auto-rickshaw) arriving from a distance and we started to get impatient for our ride! As soon as we got on board, we were charmed by the comfort and originality of the vehicle. The bonnet protects us from the sun, while the soft seats invite us to relax. Nicolas even suggested that we cover our legs with a plaid, but there was no need, the sun was out today. Let’s get ready for a hair-raising adventure!

A city turned towards the sea

After passing in front of the Palais du Pharo, we walked along the Corniche Kennedy. With the wind in our hair, we admired the breathtaking view of the azure blue sea, the Château d’If and the Frioul islands. Nicolas tells us fascinating anecdotes about the history of Marseille and its iconic monuments. The silence of the electric motor makes the experience even more immersive, allowing us to fully enjoy the passing scenery.

After cruising along this balcony overlooking the sea, we stop off at the Vallon des Auffes. This picturesque little fishing port offers a haven of peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Charmed by its pastel-coloured houses and moored boats, we took a few minutes to savour the moment.

The climb to Notre-Dame de la Garde

The route continues towards the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, the highest point in Marseille. The climb is a real spectacle, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Once we reach the top, we are overwhelmed by the beauty of the city and its many districts stretching as far as the eye can see. An exceptional panorama matched only by the majesty of the Basilica.

Nicolas gave us around 45 minutes to explore the area at our own pace. It’s a chance to stroll around the Basilica, admire the breathtaking view and let yourself be transported by the peaceful atmosphere.

Back to the Old Port

As the tour draws to a close, we head back down to the Vieux-Port, our hearts full of unforgettable memories. One last stroll through the city’s picturesque streets and we’re back at our starting point.

This electric Tuk Tuk ride was an extraordinary experience. It was an original and fun way to (re)discover the city, its secrets and its breathtaking panoramas. Many thanks to Nicolas for his kindness, professionalism and fascinating anecdotes. I highly recommend this activity to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in Marseille! You won’t regret it.
