If you are in Marseille and want to cut yourself off from the world, to stop hearing the noise of the city and discover an enchanting landscape, go for a walk on the beach of the calanque of Sormiou.

You can get there via the Baumettes district, south of the city, by taking the Sormiou pass and its small winding road which goes down directly to the cove. In summer, the descent is more complicated because cars are not allowed, it is done on foot just like the ascent! But what a pleasure to be on...
