ISO 20121 certification obtained

Since October 18, 2021, the Marseille Tourism, Leisure and Convention Bureau has been certified ISO 20121 by Bureau Veritas for its events activity, and more specifically for its BtoB promotional operations.

Our commitment to sustainable tourism

ISO 20121 is an international standard for the sustainable organization of events, covering the 3 pillars of sustainable development, in order to control their social, economic and environmental impacts. This is a voluntary and progressive approach, based on the principle of continuous improvement.

We are committed to developing our business on a balanced basis, with benefits shared by all.
We will adhere to the following 9 commitments:

Environment

  • Optimize our internal practices in terms of respect for the environment, and set an example as a project developer.
  • Through our mission, we will contribute to better flow management in order to reduce pressure on the land.
  • Support the destination’sgoal of carbon neutrality.

Social

  • Design tourism offers for all publics.
  • Promote links between jobs in the tourism sector and the local population.
  • Inform and educate the public about safety and security at the destination.

Economic

  • Unite the destination’s socio-professional players around the sustainable tourism approach.
  • Propose tools to enable the destination’s players to integrate the notion of SD into their strategy.
  • Strengthen observation, analysis and forecasting activities in the leisure and business markets.
